Commitment

What is Commitment

Commitment definition: the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.

If you want to stay fit, you must be dedicated or committed. It is the act of deciding that you are going to do something and then sticking to it.

What is your max?

As we all know, everyone is different. Everyone has a different amount of tolerance level whether its for walking, jumping, running, lifting weights etc. So you have to see what is the max amount of time that you are willing to commit to working out and how many times during the week. Once you have made this decision you must move forward and stick to the plan.

Write it down on your calendar

Mark it on your calendar that you are going to work out 15, 30 or 45 minutes three or four times a week. You don’t necessarily have to announce it to the whole world that you are starting your work out. However, writing it down and looking at it as an appointment, makes it more official. This will also help you to feel more accountable.

Envision

Envision yourself doing your workout. However, envision yourself doing the best workout ever. Envision yourself with the physique that you want to have. This is a trick that athletes use which enables them to do an excellent job. So I recommend that you focus on doing your envisioning as much as possible so that you can plant it in your subconscious mind. The night before your scheduled workout, really focus on this task of envisioning yourself working out and doing an excellent job at it. Do this until you fall asleep, let this be the last thing on your mind before dozing off. If your goal is to wake up early the next morning to do your workout and you set your alarm with the intention of waking up early to workout, guess what? When that alarm goes off, your mind will be awake, set and ready to complete that work out. I can guarantee that if you try to stay in bed and skip the workout you won’t be able to fall back asleep.

Commit

So commit to keeping your commitment of working out, and take charge of your life. It is your responsibility to stay healthy. Make the decision to start your path of wellness. As my mother always says, “Don’t wait for tomorrow to do what you are capable of doing today. Tomorrow might be too late.” Another one of moms sayings “Time will pass, it does not stop to wait for you.” With that said commit to improving your life, you will be happy you did when you see how good you feel and look. Lastly, your attitude on life will also improve and you will have more energy to enjoy life.
