Stay Focused/Time Flies

Wow time flies!

I can’t believe how time has gone super fast. It is now one year since my last post, and so much has happened. Many lessons learned and so much more to learn. Life brings us these daily challenges and we get caught up in it, therefore we tend to lose focus. In essence life happens.

Life happened and I myself lost track of time in writing my blog posts. So I am now working on being more conscious of my time, and staying focused hence the title of this post.

In the works

I am currently working on being more active, in being healthy, eating smarter, working out daily, getting strong and feeling good on a long term basis. Yes, this has always been my goal, to have this lifestyle, but I have finally made the decision to grab hold of the reigns. So I am being proactive because I want to feel good, have plenty of energy and let’s be realistic, who doesn’t want to feel good. Here is the thing, we have to strike while the iron is hot, as they say. This means that right now I have the ability to work on all these things, because I am healthy. In order to stay healthy, we have to make certain tweaks in our lives. Everyone’s goals are different, however, its smart and easier to work on improving your health when you are healthy. Have you heard the phrase “health is wealth”? This is a fact! Without good health life can be so much more complicated. So, my focus and goals may be different to someone else’s, but everyone can work on staying or becoming healthy to have a longer life.

My Goals

I have goals of becoming more fit/stronger so I am working out on a daily basis putting in some work. Now, some days are better than others. However, I now have the frame of mind, that I “must” get in a certain amount of workout and there are no exceptions. When you are in this frame of mind, it removes any excuses. I changed my mindset and I am seeing great results. And yes the mind is a muscle so we have to work on it, on a daily basis. The more you work on it, the better it becomes, you will notice the improvement. You become stronger in everything in general, you can handle things or situations better, you feel better, if you are resilient you become even more resilient. So this change of mindset is a win win situation.

How to Begin & Stay Focused

You can start with some simple changes and do something like a 21 day or 30 day challenge, to get you going. Write it on a calendar, journal, your phone, wherever, but make sure to hold yourself accountable. In the end if you miss a day or two or three, it is your loss, you’re not fooling anyone but yourself, and believe me, you will begin to see changes. You may think 21 days or 30 days is nothing (ok, so get started then), you may think (well that’s an eternity, it’s impossible). Guess what those 21-30 days are going to pass by anyway, so you might as well put in the work and start making those positive changes to improve your life. Write a plan, maybe you want to start taking a 10 minute walk daily to get in some movement, maybe you want to eat healthier so change one meal everyday to start that process, or maybe you want to read some motivational or self improvement books, you can start reading a certain amount of pages daily, or maybe you want to drink more water on a daily basis. These are just some ideas of small changes that will get you results, if you stay consistent and you do it every single day.

All I can say is, that this is working for me. This why I recommend it. I am believer that we must lead by example, so I am continuously working on improving myself, and hopefully help others in the process.

My tip of the day!

Stay focused, create a list of things you want to improve on. Once these things become a normal routine, look for other things you feel are important to you, continue to add them one at a time. This is what I am currently doing for myself.
